Since I started working with Kim, we have worked together at two different companies that I have worked for, GeekWire and now my current role at KING 5 NBC “The Home Team”, Seattle’s top local broadcast station. The fact that I am in Seattle and she is in Spokane, especially in this day and age of technology, posed no issues whatsoever. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kim on multiple projects that involved three different media kits, event signage, event programs, window branding pieces, and logo development. Every single project was done on time and to my satisfaction. (And I’m a really picky person!)

I have used Kim at Danilla Bean for two logo, letterhead and business card designs for a couple of small businesses that I have owned. She has always given me lots of choices and was willing to go back to the drawing board until we got everything perfect. She listened to what I was looking for and used her creative talent to design beautiful custom products for my company. A critical piece of small business marketing is a contemporary branding image that attracts customers and lets them know who you are. Whether you’re just getting started or needing to update your public image, Kim does a wonderful job of conveying the “flavor” you are looking for.

Danilla Dean Design has created the logo for two projects that I have done. There was great creativity and professionalism shown. She took our ideas and brought them to reality. We would ask for changes to the logo here and there, and she was very accommodating.

About a year ago, I made a decision to try some professional help in various design needs for our organization. I had spent countless hours doing basic design work myself, with less than great results. What a difference Danilla Bean Design has made in the overall professionalism of our organization. They have successfully designed all sorts of documents and graphics for our business and they are all so much higher quality and professional than my attempts. I give them simple direction and the final results are so creative and professional! Their work on our website designs have elevated our site to a higher level, and our customers really have responded with increased traffic and ultimately increased sales. I highly recommend their expert services in any organization; large or small.

Any business looking to sharpen their image would benefit from her talented eye. I will always turn to her first for any changes in my business logo and marketing needs. I highly recommend working with her. She listens to what you want and gives you a number of options to pick from. Her design represents my business and touches my target audience. A product I am always proud to display.

After being at a large multidisciplinary medical clinic in Spokane for 17 years, I decided to open up my own optometric practice. I needed to develop a logo/branding for my practice. I had some ideas of what I was wanting, but I had no clue where to start. Kim at Danilla Bean Design was amazing. She listened to what I was wanting and developed a beautiful logo and branding. Kim has an amazing design sense, and she is very easy to work with. Being very stressed with my new business, Kim was able to be a calm presence. She helped with colors and paper choice. Kim also was able to give me a disc with all of the logo designs for my office staff to put on all of our correspondence. A year after starting my business, I had an associate join the practice. All I had to do was call Kim and explain what I needed. She took over and quickly made the necessary changes.

Working with Danilla Bean has given me the ability to increase my client volume, implement a distributed workshare model that inherently limits financial delay to the sub-contractors that work with me, and improves the quality of client my own company can hope to retain. Well, those are three. By offloading all the activities surrounding graphic design for a given project, Danilla Bean allows me to focus on what I do best and keep growing my own client base at the same time. Trust is at the core of it, of course. And Kim is implicitly trustworthy.

I opened my business in 2006 which meant I needed an identity package (or a brand) for my new adventure. The artistic portion of my brain is not the dominant portion. I come from an artistic family so I appreciate and respect good design work. It was a logical decision to approach my sister, Kim Smith, to serve as my designer. I appreciate her willingness to blend my ideas with her creative style. The results always impress me and leave me excited to share my new marketing materials.

In addition to simply being a nice and pleasant person to work with, Kim does so in an efficient and prompt manner. She never complains that I just stalled things out for a week and now I want to see something right away, it just shows up. Kim is very helpful when you just want to talk out possibilities and make changes, but need another opinion without it being forced on you. When I get done with a project, I feel as though my thoughts are prevalent and yet dramatically improved and brought to life. In addition, the piece communicates well and moves a person’s eye through the key points and keeps them interested. I finally feel like I am back on track to marketing and promoting my business, instead of interviewing graphic designers.

Let's StartTeam? Yep! There is a team involved here. While I am the sole owner/employee/intern/gopher at this design firm, I never work alone. I am surrounded by a great throng of creative people! Take a look!
I am the creative head. I’m also the employee to my clients. Each time I am hired to create I become an employee - aiming to please my clients. Intern? Yep! I’m always learning new things, each job brings fresh challenges. Gopher? Of course - there isn’t anyone else to get the ink, paper and coffee. :)
Each project has an unique variable: the client. I involve my clients in the design process. Unlike other designers or firms I won’t spend hours creating my solution to your request and then push my design on you. It is intrinsically important to me that YOU are satisfied with the end result, after all, it represents you. My ego is out of the equation at this point! Perhaps that is why so many clients return time and again… Let’s create together to make something WORK for you!
This is constant. I run my projects and ideas past other professionals, family and friends. This allows me to get feedback and see designs through someone else’s eyes. Numerous times a family member or friend/colleague has seen something in a way I hadn’t seen it. Critiquing and constructive criticism are not only welcome but necessary to get us to the end product you love.
